Geelong Victoria wineries

The Geelong region is unique for its Gewurztraminer, Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. Besides the wineries in Geelong, there are many other tourist attractions that you can visit in this place such as the Great Ocean Road, Geelong Gaol, Surf Coast, Barwon Heads, Wool Museum and many more.

Pettavel

This is a state of the art winery that was established back in 2001. It was in 2002 that the first grapes were processed in this winery. The wine in this winery is minimally processed to make sure that its authenticity remains intact.

Bellarine Estate

It was Peter and Lizette Kenny who established this winery back in 1996. They aim to produce the best cool climate wines in the area. This estate is a hundred acre property in the northern slopes of Corio Bay. It is located in a valley where there is not much wind but can offer you a great view of the sun. The soil in this area gives their wines a more distinct character.

Del Rios of Mount Anakie

This winery is in the western slopes of Mt Anakie of the Geelong region. They offer some of the best cool climate wines. Located in the Moorabool valley sub-region, it is undergoing a rediscovery period. During the 19th century most of the vineyards in the Geelong region was in this area. This area has a wonderful “continental climate and low rainfall, making the wine rich in aroma, color and flavor.

Mount Anakie

This winery is also known as the Zambelli Estate. This is located in Anakie, particularly in the Moorabool Valley. You will find the valley as you journey towards Geelong. Some of its features are cellar door facility and free tastings. You can approach the winemaker to learn more about the types of vintages if you go to this winery. While you have some taste and learn more you can watch the beautiful view of the Otto Zambelli vineyard. The Mount Anakie vineyard was established back in 1968.

Shadowfax Winery

One of the most impressive wineries is found in Werribee Park, the Shadowfax Winery. It has an amazing underground barrel cellar. If you want to stay in this place a little longer, you may get the accommodation you need at The Mansion Hotel & Spa.

Staughton Vale Vineyard

This winery is located on Mt Anakie of the Moorabool Valley, South East of Victoria. This winery was established in 1986 by Paul Chambers. This is not just a winery; this is also a vineyard, a restaurant and other accommodations. The skills and experience of Chambers when it comes to winemaking is undeniable. This winery truly makes some of the best wines in Geelong. 

Minya Vineyard and Winery

This winery is located in Connewarre. It is close to Barwon Heads just beside the Great Ocean Road in the southern part of Victoria. Jeff and Sue Dans established this winery back in 1974. They named in “minya” after the aboriginal word which means “Place of Many Birds.”
