Williamstown Water Festival To celebrate the Melbourne half of Skandia Geelong Week, host city Williamstown and the traders association join with Royal Yacht Club of Victoria to provide entertainment for competitors and the general public. Royal Yacht Club of Victoria is open to the general public during the Melbourne end of Skandia Geelong Week. Live bands entertain and everyone is welcome to roam around the marina and view some of Australia's best racing yachts.
Skandia Geelong Week – Shoreside program Skandia Geelong Week is the complete entertainment package offering something for the young and the young at heart. The City of Greater Geelong will once again be a buzz with loads of entertainment. Tall ships, and a flotilla of larger passenger vessels, gravity-defying displays from the RAAF Roulettes and Edge Aerobatics and the always popular K-Rock Starshow.
An activities precinct will include art & craft markets, an art exhibition, live entertainment across two stages, Bundy Australia Day Rum House, off the beach racing, Skandia Set Sail 'Come Try Sailing', plus a range of activities for children, including a jumping castle, camel rides, train rides and face painting, and much, much more in a carnival like atmosphere.
Event Precincts
Cunningham Pier and Steampacket Quay Temporary home to a range of vessels that regularly visit the event including; tall ships, international cruise liners, super yachts, passenger ferries and charter boats. Situated at the base of Cunningham Pier, the Quay will be home to the Marine display with exhibits to include yachts, powerboats, kayaks, and Blokarts.
Steampacket Gardens The ‘Gardens’ is the hub of entertainment during Skandia Geelong Week. The main stage hosts a diverse range of widely appealing, family orientated live performances throughout the event. The Geelong Art Society Art Show will be located in Steampacket Garden with over 300 outstanding works of art with a marine theme from local and regional artists. Nearby a marquee will house the Bundy Australia Day Rum House, stocking lots of Bundaberg Rum products.
Fairnie Park Fairnie Park will feature a wide array of gourmet food and wine stalls. The ‘Park’ is a place where sailors and visitors can mingle whilst sipping a local glass of wine and enjoying watching the days activities unfold.
Transvaal Square Home to luxury corporate chalets the ‘Square’ is the place to be seen!
Ritchie Boulevard The 'Boulevard' is home to Off the Beach racing, Skandia Set Sail 'Come Try Sailing' and art & craft. Connecting Fairnie Park to the Eastern Beach precinct - the boulevard is a shopper's bazaar during Skandia Geelong Week. This precinct also features outrigger racing and beach volleyball. |
