Skandia Geelong Week (SGW) is the largest sailing regatta in Australia with over 400 yachts competing over the five days. Skandia Geelong Week is a fabulous event for sailors, yachting enthusiasts and visitors alike. Beginning in 1844, the regatta has evolved over many years culminating in its current format.
There are plenty of shoreside activities taking place for those not competing – take a stroll along the waterfront through the quality art and craft markets; taste fine local food and wine; be entertained by buskers, street theatre and talented musical acts across two stages. The 2009 entertainment program will be available at a later date.
The travel and accommodation sections will ensure you find your way to Geelong and can assist you in finding appropriate accommodation when you’re here. But don’t leave booking your accommodation to the last minute – it is a busy weekend and remember, it’s peak holiday period throughout Geelong and the Surf Coast.
